Blacklock Soho

Steak Restaurant & Chop House in the heart of Soho

Housed in a former Soho brothel and the notorious “Le Reims” lap dancing club. Like much of 1950s Soho, Great Windmill Street was infamous for its activities of the night as well as the Nosh Bar, a salt beef institution, which for 40 years was a local favourite for a mix of celebrities du jour, Soho showgirls and even the late A.A Gill. The atmosphere is fun and true to our Soho heritage, yet we still catch the occasional former punter descending the stairs before hastily retreating realising it’s not quite the same establishment they frequented in the 90s.

CHOPHOUSE & STEAK RESTAURANT IN SOHO

Great-tasting food without the fuss

Blacklock is all about doing the simple things well. Generous chops and steaks (and plenty more in between) served with sides made for sharing. As a chophouse and steak restaurant in the historic heart of Soho, our aim has always been to serve the very best meat our fair land has to offer, whilst staying kind to your wallet.

We work closely with our friends and trusted farmers, the Warrens, to source the very best of British beef, which is carefully dry-aged to deepen flavour. By using the whole animal to make something of everything, we champion great chops and steak at incredible value.

We're on a humble mission to be considered among some of the best steak restaurants in Soho — somewhere to settle in, make memories, and enjoy great-tasting food with all the trimmings, and none of the fuss.

Sunday Roast Soho

Almost as Good as Moms (and only available on Sundays!)

Sundays are for slowing down, settling in, and gathering round the table — and Blacklock Soho takes its Sunday roast seriously. Known for one of London’s most-loved Sunday lunches, it’s all about generous plates, proper cooking, and plenty of time to enjoy it.

Sundays at Blacklock Soho are treated a little differently. The kitchen switches gears for the day, with meat cooked slowly over open coals and the focus firmly on proper roasts served from lunch through to the evening. It’s a relaxed, all-day affair built around generous plates, seasonal vegetables, and plenty of (unlimited) gravy - a familiar setup for those seeking the best Sunday roast Soho has to offer.

Pre-Theatre Dining Soho

Just minutes from London’s major theatres, Blacklock is perfectly placed for your pre-theatre dining requirements, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed meal before the curtain goes up. Expect well-timed service when you need it, early evening dining options and a setting that works just as well for couples as it does for small groups. Let the team know your curtain time and they’ll take care of the rest.

Group Dining Soho

Relax with friends or family

Blacklock Soho is a great spot for group dining, whether you’re getting friends together for a birthday, a celebration, or simply a long, relaxed meal. Tables can be booked in advance, with space always kept back for walk-ins if you’re feeling spontaneous.

For groups of 6–8 guests, the team is happy to help arrange your booking by email, making sure everything’s set up smoothly. Menus are designed for sharing, the atmosphere stays relaxed, and the focus is firmly on good food and good company.

For group dining in Soho that’s generous, informal, and easy to plan, Blacklock Soho keeps things simple.

Butcher Price Monday

Why we LOVE Mondays

Unlike some, we’re a big fan of Mondays here at Blacklock Soho, here’s why…

Our famous Big Chops - think Porterhouse, Prime Rib, Bone-in Sirloin, and Lamb Rump - are served at your local butcher’s price: just £8 per 100g. Think generous, door-stop-thick cuts designed for sharing or indulging solo.

Butcher Price Monday is all about incredible chops and steak at great value. All cuts are cooked to order and written up on the board, then crossed off as they go, so keep your eyes on the prize! No catches, just cut-price chops at a fraction of the usual price.

Available every Monday, all day for lunch and dinner, Butcher Price Monday has quickly become a much-loved ritual at Blacklock Soho. We always try to keep a few tables free for walk-ins but it does get busy, so book ahead to avoid disappointment. Don’t miss your chance to enjoy some of the best steak in Soho at a snip of the price!

Drinks at Blacklock

Cocktails, wine and beer

While our chefs and butchers champion a whole-animal approach, our bar team embraces a “pip to peel” philosophy, using every last drop of fruit to minimise waste and maximise flavour. The result? Thoughtfully crafted cocktails that are as delicious as they are sustainable, proving that great drinks that do a little good too, make them all the more enjoyable. Perfect for a drink before dinner or a late-night cocktail in Soho.

Whether you’re after expertly mixed cocktails, locally brewed beers or alcohol-free options that don’t compromise on taste, our Bar Keeps have something for every occasion. We’ve long had a soft spot for Cornwall, with Philip Warren caring for the Blacklock herd and Harbour Brew Co. brewing our beers on the North Cornish coast.

Our wine list is equally considered, with sustainable wine on tap offering a fresher, lower-impact way to enjoy exceptional wines from some of our favourite producers around the world. And while we’re not ones for a Fine Wine or Reserve List we have a carefully curated list of special bottles picked up from many travels abroad and smuggled home for you to enjoy.
