Nothing makes us happier than looking after those we have met. Over the past few months, we’ve been on a mission to take that care one step further: doing things a little differently, pushing ourselves out of our comfort zones, and hopefully doing some good along the way.
This year kicked off with muddy boots and big smiles: we hiked the Brecon Beacons, sprinted through the Great Manchester Run, and threw ourselves into the mud (quite literally) at Tough Mudder – all in support of Only A Pavement Away.
In March, we raised a glass to independent businesses with a cheeky menu of cocktails crafted exclusively from B Corp brands. Not charity in the traditional sense, perhaps, but proof that business done right can have a real and lasting impact on communities.
Some of us went even further: conquering a fear of heights by abseiling towering cliffs to raise awareness of allergies in schools, tackling an extreme triathlon to support children’s medical research, and even heading to Kenya to volunteer at Rhino Charge – helping protect the country’s stunning landscapes.
Closer to home, we’ve rolled up our sleeves for Manchester’s Wood Street Mission, cooking lunches, fundraising, all to help make sure children have what they need to start school with confidence. Over in Bakewell, others laced up for EatWell Do Good Month, while Negroni Week (this week) has given us the perfect excuse to stir up a classic in support of Slow Food, a charity working hard to make sure the our food has a future.
