There’s a little more history to Blacklock Shoreditch than meets the eye.
Housed in what was once an East End furniture factory, our Shoreditch home has been part of the neighbourhood’s working life for decades. Back in the 1940s and 50s, the building was a hive of British industry, where skilled craftspeople spent their days handcrafting leather recliners and rosewood dining chairs.
It feels fitting that all these years later, we’re still making things by hand, paying attention to the details and bringing people together around a table.
Because Shoreditch has always been a place where things are made.
Over the years, the neighbourhood has become synonymous with creativity and design, from independent makers and studios to architects, interior designers, galleries and showrooms. Its industrial past has given way to a different kind of creative energy, but that spirit of making and doing things a little differently is still very much alive.
Welcome to Shoreditch Design Week
From 15 – 20 September 2026, Shoreditch Design Week takes over the neighbourhood as part of London Design Festival, bringing together exhibitions, installations, showrooms, talks, workshops, product launches and plenty of reasons to explore the area. More than 100 showrooms, exhibitions, installations and events are taking part across the district, making Shoreditch one of the biggest destinations in the festival.
It’s a week dedicated to the people and ideas shaping design today – from established names to emerging talent, with studios, galleries, hotels, showrooms and pop-up spaces opening their doors across the neighbourhood.
With so much happening right on our doorstep, it felt only right that we should do something to mark the occasion.
We’ve partnered with Shoreditch Design Week to create a two-course menu for those attending the festival.
For £25, badge holders can tuck into our new Bavette Steak, a bold, rich cut from our friends Ian and Philip Warren, served with your choice of side and sauce. Then, because no Blacklock meal is complete without it, there’s our beloved White Chocolate Cheesecake to finish. Simple, generous and very much us.
The menu is available Tuesday–Thursday, 12–3pm and 5–10pm, for tables of up to four guests. It’s available exclusively to Shoreditch Design Week badge holders, and we recommend booking ahead. Simply quote ‘Shoreditch Design Week’ when making your reservation.
