Tomorrow morning, before the grills are fired up and the first chops are plated, our Manchester team will be lacing up their walking boots for something a little different.
Together, they’ll be taking on a charity hike in support of Wood Street Mission, an incredible charity that helps children and families experiencing poverty across Greater Manchester.
When we opened Blacklock Manchester, we were welcomed with open arms by the city. Since then, we’ve been lucky enough to become part of a community that’s full of warmth, generosity and people who look after one another. This hike is our chance to give a little of that back.
Looking after people has always been at the heart of Blacklock. It starts with our teams in the restaurants and our guests around the table, but it doesn’t stop there. Becoming a B Corp strengthened a belief we’ve always held close: businesses have a responsibility to leave the places they’re part of a little better than they found them.
Wood Street Mission has been doing exactly that for generations. Through practical support like clothing, books, toys and everyday essentials, they help children and families across Greater Manchester navigate incredibly tough times with dignity and hope.
Tomorrow’s challenge isn’t about how quickly we reach the finish line or how many blisters we collect along the way (although we’re expecting a few). It’s about coming together as a team to support our neighbours and raise money for a charity making a real difference every single day.
