Nothing stirs the room quite like a homemade pie, fresh from the oven.
For a while now, we’ve been toying with a few delicious ways to use the trimmings from our morning butchery.
Versatile and deeply flavoursome, these precious cuts present a bounty of opportunity, and we may have just happily stumbled across our most comforting creation yet; a lick-the-plate clean number that we’ve all been secretly pining for and is simply too good not to share.
After carefully carving our steaks for the day, we leave the remaining cuts to bubble away gently on the stove long into service, fuelled liberally with a hearty Stout, before tucking all that tasty, tender meat and super-rich gravy to rest in a golden shortcrust pastry of dreams. Bolster that with Beef Dripping Chips and a piping hot boat of (more) gravy, and we guarantee to have you pie-eyed and in love.
Ideal for a cosy lunch or, dare we suggest, a side for the table to share, this secret showstopper won’t be found on our menus. With just over a dozen or so each day chalked up on our blackboards from midday onwards; once they’re gone, they’re gone!
So tell only your nearest and dearest, and be sure to bag one for the table.
