Dear Birmingham, After a few glorious weeks of training (yes, it did involve eating a lot of chops), and a buzzing soft launch now under our belts, we are thrilled to be able to say:
Blacklock Birmingham is officially open!
You’ll find us on Cathedral Square… or, as we’re quickly learning, Pigeon Park, where we’ll be kicking things off with Butcher Price Monday and bookending the week with our (Almost as Good as Mum’s) Sunday Roast. In between, we’ll be taking our trusty cocktail trolley for a spin, bringing you plenty of tableside Negronis whilst doling out generous (say when) spoonfuls of White Chocolate Cheesecake.
While we’ve spent months carefully restoring our beautiful building to its former glory, we’ve also been busy in the kitchen creating, tasting, and perfecting some brand new dishes, just for you.
Alongside the Blacklock classics, we’re especially excited to introduce something completely new for us: Cornish dayboat monkfish. Cooked on the bone for incredible depth of flavour, served with a cream and mustard sauce, and finished with a garlic crumb, it’s the first time we’ve ever put fish on the menu, and we’re really excited for you to try it.
Next up, keep an eye out for our new Bavette steak. Made in collaboration with our good friend and butcher Ian Warren and often referred to as ‘the butcher’s cut’, it’s packed with flavour and sitting at a very keenly priced £15. We recommend bolstering with a healthy helping of Beef-Dripping Chips and our new Chop House Salad, (our chefs’ special take on a Waldorf) for the full works.
If you’ve already booked, thank you. We’ll see you very soon. Your support getting us here has meant everything.
Chop Love,
Gordon, Victoria and The Blacklock Team x
