
We had the pleasure of welcoming a fantastic group from Only A Pavement Away to our Manchester site for a hands-on butchery and bar masterclass.
The morning was all about sharing skills, knowledge, and a passion for making the most of every ingredient. Wojciech guided the group through the fundamentals of butchery, demonstrating key techniques, answering questions, and providing a behind-the-scenes look at our kitchen.
Harry Cooper and Ross Culligan then explored the importance of whole-animal butchery, showing how every cut can be used with purpose and creativity. To add a different perspective, attendees also had the chance to step behind the bar, where Kasia, our brilliant Bar Manager in Manchester, led a hands-on session in mixing, shaking, and crafting drinks.
It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement throughout.
For those who may not know, Only A Pavement Away is a charity dedicated to helping people facing or recovering from homelessness, as well as veterans and prison leavers, find employment opportunities within the hospitality sector. By connecting individuals with employers, they help people rebuild confidence, gain financial independence, and create brighter futures through meaningful work.
