Blacklock is Coming to Covent Garden

We are giddy with excitement to be growing again and opening our biggest restaurant yet in the heart of Covent Garden!

When a local landlord phoned to ask what we thought of a disused basement that used to house the King’s Coachmakers back in the 1600s, we were intrigued. We popped down, took one look at its gorgeous brick walls and cosy intimate feel and, well, here we are.

When? When? When!

Our trusty construction team, with a little help from us on tea-making, are busy revealing heritage walls and uncovering old floors full of history so we can welcome you all warmly in February 2022. For us, it can’t come quick enough. We hope you feel similarly!

Will there be a soft launch?

Of course. Our biggest yet and, as ever, you’ll be top of our guest list as we’ll need to ask for your kind help and support in an important week of final preparations for our team bringing cut-price chops, a few mistakes and above all lots of fun as we christen our new restaurant!

Be sure to sign up for our newsletter for the full scoop in due course.

What’s new?

The environment is (rightly) top of everyones mind, yet, as a Chophouse, this has been a core pillar of our ethos since the beginning. We are incredibly lucky to work exclusively with our farmer Philip Warren in Cornwall who cares for the Blacklock herds all reared sustainably eating lush grass on the beautiful Cornish moors in a regenerative way.

By using the whole animal to make something of everything, we are pleased to be growing but not using many more animals in the process. Covent Garden will further extend this philosophy bringing never-before-seen cuts and dishes to the menu whilst keeping the environment front of mind.

What’s more, we’ll be planting a tree for every guest we serve which so far has seen the Blacklock Forest grow to 125,000 trees as we move towards our big goal to become a B Corp, net zero Chophouse with no impact on Momma Earth. Well, other than good vibes!

See you soon!
